Hi, I’m Rebecca Vanderhoek. I am a property, architectural & interiors photographer based in Sydney, Australia. My client base varies from builders & architects, interior designers, real estate agents and Airbnb.
I also photograph portraits, ranging from personal branding to newborns, engagements and couples. My style is environmental portraiture. Capturing real people, in real moments in a beautiful natural way.
Being the grand-daughter of a photographer and collector has meant the works of classical greats such as Cartier-Bresson, Max Dupain, Bill Hensen, Alfred Stieglitz, Man Ray and Dorothea Lange have adorned the walls of our houses, imprinting a deep connection with photography from a very young age.
My grandmother gave me my first professional DSLR back in the mid 2000’s, which I took to South Africa, East Timor and India. At this point in my photography journey I had no idea how to operate outside of automatic mode. Regardless of skill, I snapped my heart out and have been photographing ever since.
My goal as a photographer is to capture the essence of my subject by paying close attention to light, detail, colour, feeling, space, texture and mood.
